Reed Doughty - Athletic Director
Coach Doughty earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Northern Colorado in 2005. He was a four year starter for the Bears football team earning All-American and Academic All-American honors during his tenure. Coach Doughty was inducted into the UNC Hall of Fame in 2011. The Washington Redskins selected Coach Doughty with the 173rd pick of the 2006 NFL draft. He went on to play in 107 games starting 54 of those contests during his 8 year NFL career. Coach Doughty and his wife, Katie, have three sons.

Jared Wallen - Head Coach, High School Football
Appointed 2016. Coach Wallen was a four-year starter on the defensive line for the University of Northern Colorado Bears, finishing with 146 career tackles, 17.5 career tackles for loss and nine career sacks. He garnered All-Conference honors following his senior season. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Northern Colorado, helping with the defensive line for two years. He moved on to the high school ranks, joining Greeley Central High School, where he served as the varsity defensive coordinator for six seasons. Coach Wallen earned his first head coaching opportunity at Green Mountain High School in Lakewood, CO, where he lead the Rams for three season. He has also been instrumental in creating the off-season athletic development program and strength training program for his football teams. As a head Coach Wallen has guided 17 players to All-Conference honors with one of those players earning All-State honors. Under his mentorship three of his athletes went on to play at the collegiate level. As a position coach he has led numerous players to post season honors including: 28 All Conference,and 2 All-State players. Seven of those athletes moved on to the college football ranks. Coach Wallen and his wife, Kirsten, recently had their first son, Roy Enoch Wallen.

Tarabeth Herman - Head Coach, High School Volleyball
Appointed 2017. Coach Herman begins her inaugural campaign as the High School Bulldog Volleyball coach, after a successful year as the CCA middle school coach. She brings impressive playing credentials to the position including: 8 years of club, 4 years of Varsity at The Academy, and 1 year of college at Northeastern Junior College (NJC Sterling, CO). She has experience coaching youth volleyball camps and brings her passion of coaching and mentoring young girls to CCA.

Anthony Johnson - Head Coach, High School Boys Basketball
Coach Johnson has been involved with the Bulldog boys basketball program since 2013. He served as assistant coach for two seasons before taking over in the 2015-2016 season. Coach Johnson has previous head coaching experience at Bromley East Charter School (Brighton, CO) serving as the middle school boys basketball and head Track and Field coach. Coach Johnson’s basketball teams had an above .500 record and went the to playoffs in his third year were they lost in the league championship game, earning league runner-up honors. He coached numerous athletes to top 5 league finishes in Track and Field. Coach Johnson is happily married with four children and two grandchildren.

Mike Durrill - Head Coach, High School Girls Basketball
Appointed 2010. Coach Durrill coached a very successful Bulldog boys basketball program for five seasons before taking over the girls basketball team for the 2015-2016 season. While at the helm of the boys program he led the 2014-2015 team to the Conference Final Four, and twice led them to playoff appearances (2013/2014). He coached several players to All-Conference and All-State honors: Micahel Durrill 1st Team All-State/1st Team All-Conference and Robert Mulford 2nd Team All-State, 2nd Team All-Conference. The lady Bulldogs had a record of 9-9 in 2015-2016 and look to build off of the momentum from last season. Coach Durill played four years of Intramural basketball at Bob Jones University where he was selected 1st Team All-School. Coach Durrill and his wife Diana have five children: Michael, Morgan, Bryn 13, Kenlee and Josiah.

Todd Fields - Head Coach, High School Baseball
Appointed 2014. Coach Fields is finishing his 3rd season at the helm of the Cornerstone Bulldogs baseball program. The bulldogs are 43-22 all-time under Coach Fields and 15-8 in league play (District 2). The Bulldogs best season came in 2016, where the Bulldogs finished the year 9-7, were District 2 champions and made the 1A state playoffs. Coach Fields was named 5280 League Coach of the Year for his efforts. The Bulldogs also made a 1A State playoff appearance in 2014. Coach Fields has let his team to the district playoffs in each of his three seasons of coaching at CCA.
Coach Fields has guided many Bulldogs to post season honors. In 2016, Tyler Fields, Sean Fogg and Nathanael Garrett earned 1st Team All-League Honors, while Zach Dube and Treven Schmidt earned All-League Honorable Mention honors. Fields and Garrett were selected to play in a senior all-star game. Carlos Diaz (2014/2015) Nathanael Garrett (2014) and Tyler Fields (2015) have earned CHSAA 1A 2nd Team All-State honors.
Coach Fields has been married to his wife, Shannon for 23 years. They have two children, Tyler, a Senior at CCA, and Jordyn, a Sophomore at CCA. Tyler will be attending Baylor University in the Fall on a Army ROTC scholarship.

Amy Downey - Head Coach, High School Girls Soccer
Appointed 2014. Coach Downey his wrapped up her 3rd campaign and finest to date as head coach of the Bulldog Girls Soccer Program. The Lady Bulldogs are 27-17-1 all-time under Coach Downey's tutelage with three consecutive playoff appearances (2014-3A, 2014/2015-2A). During the recent 2016 season, the Lady Bulldogs were Regional Champs and 2A State Quarterfinalists. They finished the regular season ranked #3 in the State of Colorado in the 2A polls.
Coach Downey has coached numerous athletes to post-season honors: 2016 1st Team All-League — Caralyn Kolberg, Justice Gearhard, Mikayla Grubbs, Addison Kanon. 2016 Honorable Mention All-League — Melissa Prater, Morgan Askey, Madison Bueno, Hannah Hoffman. 2015 1st Team All-League— Amanda Ashby, Addison, Kanon, and Morgan Askey. Addison Kanon became Coach Downey’s first player to garner All-State honors (Honorable Mention).2014 1st Team All-League — Caralyn Kolberg, Abigail Longtine, and Avonelle Halbach.
Coach Downey has been playing soccer for 27 years, competing at the 6A level in Kansas City as a starting left midfielder in high school. She played club soccer for Kansas State University for one season and has played indoor soccer since 2005. She continues to love getting out on the pitch, whether as a player or coach. Coach Downey has been on staff at CCA since 2013 and teaches various Physical Science and Human Science courses. Coach Downey has been married to her husband, Ben, for 13 years. They have 3 daughters who love being a part of the CCA community and are the soccer team’s biggest fans.

Tommy Thomas - Golf Coach
Appointed 2011. Coach Thomas played on the PGA Tour and then served as the PGA Head Professional for 28 years at Inwood Country Club (retired as Pro Emeritus) in Long Island, New York. He is currently the Tournament Director for the Tommy Thomas Pro-Am Golf Tournaments and on the Colorado PGA Junior Golf Committee where he plays an active role in all of the junior golf activities in the state of Colorado.
At CCA, Coach Thomas is committed to building a school golf program through physical education and athletics that is recognized as the finest in the state of Colorado. Coach Thomas runs a phenomenal summer program for K-12 students and coaches the MS/HS boys and girls golf team at the varsity and club level. In 2015, Coach Thomas led Senior Bulldog, Duncan Mangel, to the CHSAA 3A State Championship golf tournament where Duncan placed 52nd in a field of 84.

Mitch Doughty - Middle School Football Coach
Coach Doughty help start the football program for both the Middle School and High School teams prior to the 2010 season while serving as the High School Principal at CCA. Coach Doughty has coached the middle school team five of the program's six seasons, while coaching the high school team during the 2013 campaign. Coach Doughty’s Bulldogs have annually ranked in the top of the league. Coach Doughty played two seasons collegiately at Sterling College (Sterling, KS) contributing on special teams and starting his senior season at defensive end. Coach Doughty is assisted by his father, Marlon, who has 35+ years of experience coaching football at the middle school level.
Education/Professional — Mr. Doughty graduated summa cum laude from Sterling college in Kansas with a bachelor of science in biology and minors in chemistry and religion and philosophy. He completed his master of arts in philosophy of religion with honors of Denver seminary. He has been on staff at CCA since 2004.
Patrick McGuin - Middle School Boys Basketball Coach
Appointed 2015. Coach McGuin led the Middle School Boys Bulldog Basketball team to a very strong showing in his inaugural season as head coach. Capping a successful season, the Bulldogs earned a spot in the championship bracket where they advanced to the championship game finishing in second place. Previously, Coach McGuin served as the Middle School Boys Basketball Coach at Wuhan Yangtze International School where he coached his team to a winning record as one of the top teams in the league. He also teaches various History and Religious Studies classes at CCA. Coach McGuin and his wife, Amy, have four sons: Micah, Evan, Elliot and Hudson.

Larry Zimbelman - Middle School Girls Basketball Coach
Coach Zimbelman has been coaching at Cornerstone for the last 20 years. He also serves on the administrative staff as the K-8 Principal. Coach Zimbelman played two years of college soccer and two pre-seasons in baseball at Metro State. His has previous experience coaching soccer, basketball, baseball, Varsity Girls Basketball at Faith Christian and Cornerstone. Over his 20 year career he has coached multiple players to postseason honors and earned coach of the year numerous times. Coach Zimbelman is happily married to his wife Shauna. He has four children who are all married and live across the globe including England, Germany, Texas and Colorado. He is the proud grandfather of two.

Troy Boyer - Middle School Girls Soccer Coach
Coach Boyer is a Cornerstone Bulldog Alum. He has been teaching PE and Coaching at Cornerstone since 2006. He coached a very successful Bulldog boys soccer program to an overall record of 33-1-4, with back to back FRCAA Championships in 2006/2007 and a CHSAA 3A playoff berth the following year. Coach Boyer earned the 2006 League Spiritual Impact Award and guided two players to All-Conference honors (Randy Mangel 2006/2007, Zach Grien 2007). Coach Boyer then took over the middle school girls soccer program and has an overall record of 11-6, while guiding the team to a 4-1 record in 2015. Coach Boyer played collegiately at Sterling College (Sterling, KS) and started as left wing as a Freshman. Coach Boyer and his wife Megan have two daughters; Katie and Ella.
