JEFF WILSON HIRED TO LEAD THE BULLDOG BOYS BASKETBALL PROGRAM
WESTMINSTER, COLO. — May 22, 2017 — The Cornerstone Christian Academy Athletic Department is excited to announce the hiring of Jeff Wilson to lead the Bulldog Boys Basketball Program. Coach Wilson comes to Cornerstone after coaching over 40 youth teams over several years and a very successful seven-year run as assistant basketball coach and chaplain at Valor Christian School.

I believe that Cornerstone has high expectations and a great vision to have a significant impact on the youth of the north metro area,” said Coach (Jeff) Wilson. “Cornerstone’s desire for excellence in Christ, in academics, and in athletics will allow the school to be a great influence for God's kingdom.”
Wilson will be responsible for the planning and execution of the entire boys basketball program and takes over a team that loses only two seniors on the varsity squad and looks for continued improvement in the 2017-2018 season. His inaugural campaign coincides with the beginning of major facility improvements at Cornerstone including a new gymnasium, turf practice field and a complete Sports Performance Center overhaul.

A Colorado native, Coach Wilson spent his high school years in Littleton, at Columbine High School. He played 2 years of basketball at Otero Jr. College, and 2 years at Colorado Christian University. After his competitive playing time, Jeff spent 2 years as an assistant coach with the women’s program at Colorado Christian University. After coaching over 40 youth teams over several years and different sports, Coach Wilson starting coaching high school basketball in 2009 at Valor Christian High School. Over a seven year stretch Jeff helped coach teams that made the Final 4, three times. Twice he was a part of teams that qualified to play in the state championship. Jeff has coached 27 kids who went on to compete in college athletics. Twelve of these athletes played for, or are currently playing for Division I schools.
As a Christian, Coach Wilson made the decision to put his faith and trust in Jesus in 1992. Several circumstances ignited at deep burning passion for evangelism within him. In 3 of Jeff’s seasons at Valor Christian he served along with Ken Michael as program chaplain for the basketball program, as well as assistant coach. It is his desire to help people grow as believers, that has led to his decision to pursue coaching to provide a platform that will allow Jeff to share the gospel of Jesus.
Jeff has been married to his wife, Kristin, for 23 years. Together, they have 3 children, Mitch (20) and Davis (18) are nursing students at Grand Canyon University. Their daughter, Brooke (12) will be in the 7 th grade in their home town of Castle Rock.
