We're so excited to welcome student blogger, Natalie Meenach.
Art is different for everyone, some people enjoy it and some people dread it. I think that art is a creative and interactive way of putting your story and your feelings on paper. Whether it is in designing a room or creating an abstract picture, there is a story.
The art program at CCA has truly brought a new lens on my life. I now see the world as a work of art rather than just a piece of land that we live on. Wherever you look, you can see how God used his hands to create such a beautiful world. Going to art is the best part of my day, letting me put the school side of my brain away and bring out my creative side. I truly do feel calm and at peace when I do art. This year Mrs. Longtine has put together some amazing projects that have stretched my abilities as an artist. A few of my favorites include our typography project, the logo design, and our t-shirt design. CCA’s art program also has shown us real life examples of art, like logos, posters, chalkboards, advertisements, and even commercials.
This year CCA hosted their Annual Art Show. I enjoyed watching many kids share their talents and passions for something other than a sport. The art classes all throughout the school did a phenomenal job at portraying each project in their own individual way. The CCA Choir and band also performed, and their long hours of practicing paid off during their great performance. Although I did enjoy the whole night, my favorite part was watching the high school choir’s skit. Each actor played their role to the t and it felt like I was watching a professional play. Thank you to Mrs. Longtine and Mrs. Kellerman for helping us understand God as Creator through the arts and showcasing the CCA artistic talent in the amazing program of Arts Night!
