Remodel Resumes

CCA would like to praise God and thank the City of Westminster. The remodeling of the Arabian Horse Center resumed the week of Monday, July 26^th after the City granted the permit to continue construction. CCA plans to start school at the Arabian Horse Center during the second week of September. More Pictures

FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid - All college-bound students should apply even if they don't think they will require a loan.The FAFSA is required for many grants, work study opportunities, and need based scholarships. Students should apply at the earliest possible date (August of their Senior year) to maximize opportunities. www.fafsa.ed.gov

College Opportunity Fund

Free money for in-state tuition

The College Opportunity Fund (COF) provides a stipend to eligible undergraduate students. The stipend pays a portion of your total in-state tuition when you attend a Colorado public institution or a participating private institution. The per credit hour stipend amount will be determined each year by the Colorado Legislature. Click on the link below for more information:

Counseling Program Overview

Teresa Doughty, M.A., L.P.C., N.C.C.

Mrs. Doughty works with high school students to ensure that they earn the credits they need to graduate from high school and enter into their college of choice. This process begins with freshmen, reaches its apex during the College and Career Seminar required first semester of their junior year and continues through graduation.

She also works with Kindergarten through twelfth grade students regarding behavioral and mental health issues affecting their school performance.

Teresa Doughty graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology, magna cum laude. She spent a year between college and graduate school doing mission work in Mexico with Campus Crusade for Christ. She completed her Master of Arts in Community Counseling with honors at Denver Seminary and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Teresa has been a Nationally Certified Counselor since 2003 and her work experience includes three years of professional counseling at a residential facility for troubled teens. She began working at CCA in 2005.

ACT & SAT Information

All students who want to attend college need to take either the ACT or SAT. The best time to take either test is in April or May of a student's junior year and again in October of his or her senior year if needed. Taking the test multiple times is not an issue, since colleges only count the highest scores. To register, click on the links below. You will need the CCA school code to register.

NCAA Clearinghouse

Students interested in participating in athletics at an NCAA college must register during their senior year. There are minimum academic requirement that must be met in order to be eligible for NCAA participation. Graduation from CCA or acceptance to college does not guarantee that NCAA requirments have been met. Click on the link below for more information.
