Patrick McGuin - Biblical Studies and Language Arts
Mr. McGuin completed his Bachelor of Science in History at Central Michigan University and received his secondary Teaching Certificate in Michigan. He went on to receive a Master of Arts in Leadership at Denver Seminary. Mr. McGuin has over seven years of experience, and prior to Cornerstone, taught Religious Studies and Ethics at Wuhan Yangtze International School in China. He joined the CCA Faculty in 2015.
Chris Sandifer - Biblical Studies and Language Arts
Miss Sandifer graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She later went on to Denver Seminary to complete her Master of Arts with honors in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Old Testament. Chris worked at the graduate level as the Administrative Assistant to the Educational Programs Office and Assistant Director of Training and Mentoring at Denver Seminary before joining the faculty at CCA in 2005.
Kathy York - Language Arts and Social Science
Mrs. York graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in History. She went on to receive a Master of Secondary Education degree from Regis University. She has over eight years of teaching experience. Mrs. York joined the CCA staff in 2013.
Kathleen Frederick - Math
Mrs. Frederick earned her Bachelor of Science in Education with minors in Math, Science, and Social Studies from Concordia University in Chicago. She has completed graduate hours toward a Masters degree in reading and has over ten years of teaching experience. She joined the CCA Faculty in 2014.
Heather Johnson - Math
Mrs. Johnson has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with an emphasis in Secondary Education and minors in Coaching and Physical Education from the University of Northern Colorado. She was an honor student and active member in Campus Crusade for Christ during her time at UNC. Prior to teaching at CCA, Heather taught math at Chaparral High School in Parker, CO. Heather is involved with Discovery Church in Broomfield where she serves by teaching and assisting with administrative duties. She joined the CCA faculty in 2008.
Joe Milan - Math
Mr. Milan earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics, with honors, from the University of Missouri. He also holds a Master of Science in Physics and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri. In addition to his career as a software engineer, he has experience teaching math at the college level including at the University of Denver. He also served as a project engineer during his time as a Captain in the Air Force. Mr. Milan joined the Cornerstone faculty in 2016
Amy Downey - Science
Mrs. Downey holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Kansas State University. Prior to coming to CCA, she taught Anatomy and Physiology at Metro State University. She has been involved with young couples and high school ministry at her church, Calvary Bible Church in Boulder. Mrs. Downey joined the CCA staff in 2012.
Alyce Todd - Science
Ms. Todd has a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Colorado State University. Prior to teaching at CCA, Ms. Todd was the Co-Manager of Education at the downtown Aquarium. She also teaches in the children’s ministry at Riverside Baptist Church. Ms. Todd joined the CCA staff in 2012.
Teresa Doughty - Social Science
Mrs. Doughty graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology, magna cum laude. She spent a year between college and graduate school doing mission work in Mexico with Campus Crusade for Christ. She completed her Master of Arts in Community Counseling with honors at Denver Seminary and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Her work experience includes three years of professional counseling at a residential treatment facility for troubled teens. She is also an honorary professor of Psychology through the University of Colorado, Denver. She began working at CCA in 2005.
Peter Fetterly - Social Science and Biblical Studies
Mr. Fetterly received his Bachelor of Arts in the Classics from the University of Colorado at Boulder and went on to earn his doctorate of jurisprudence. He graduate 5th in his law school class, cum laude, from the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has practiced law for over 25 years. Mr. Fetterly has been teaching in christian settings for over 30 years, and his teaching experience in the secondary education setting began in 2001. Mr. Fetterly joined the full-time faculty at CCA in 2013.
Linnea Spicer - Foreign Language
Mrs. Spicer received her Bachelor of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Spanish from the University of Northern Colorado. She previously served in the Douglas County and Boulder Valley school districts and has over 15 year of Spanish teaching experience. Mrs. Spicer is a member of Discovery Christain Church where she has served on the leadership team and teaching 2nd and 3rd graders. She joined the faculty at CCA in 2011.
Cathleen Kellerman - Band and Choir
Mrs. Kellerman graduated magna cum laude wtih a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Nyack College in New York. She has received an Excellence in Teaching Award and is a trained Kindermusik instructor. Prior to joining the faculty at CCA, she managed the Fortissimo Music Studio teaching Kindermusik, summer camps, lessons and worskshops, taught high school band, choir and music appreciation at Paramus Catholic High School in New Jersey, and served on staff as the worship leader at Neighborhood Alliance Chuch in New York. Mrs. Kellerman also has over 15 years of experience teaching private instrumental lessons. She joined the CCA staff in 2012.
Beth Longtine - Art
Mrs. Longtine has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Edgewood College in Madison, WI. She homeschooled her seven children for 20 years, and taught art at a homeschooling enrichment program for 8 years. She joined the CCA faculty in 2011.
Troy Boyer - Physical Education
Mr. Boyer received his Bachelor of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Physical Education at Metropolitan State College of Denver. He holds a teaching certificate from the Colorado Department of Education and a Local Church Ministers License and is a youth leader at Trinity Christian Fellowship in Northglenn. He played collegiate soccer at Sterling College in Kansas and co-led a soccer camp for elementary to middle school age children (focused on sharing the gospel through the common language of soccer) in Birmingham, England. Mr. Boyer joined the CCA faculty in 2007.
